This game is designed for relaxation and sleep preparation. It is not medical treatment and cannot guarantee sleep. Everything stays on your device — no account, no analytics, no network.
Made with love by Nebula Tactic
Tap the moon when it asks you to. That is the entire game. No score, no timer, no combo, no way to fail.
It starts awake. The moon sits in the middle and asks every three or four seconds. You answer. It brightens a little. That's it.
Then it slows down. The gaps stretch to five seconds, then eight. The moon begins to drift, and returns to a soft circle in the centre when it wants you. Miss it and nothing happens — the moon doesn't mind.
Then it stops asking questions. It shows you one plain thing at a time — an apple, a boat, a fern — and asks you to picture it. There is nothing to remember and nothing to solve.
Then come the long waits. Twenty, thirty seconds where the screen does nothing at all. No countdown, no build-up. The waiting is the mechanic.
Then it starts watching how you tap. How fast you answer, how many you miss, how long you hold. The slower you get, the less it asks of you.
Then it begins to disappear. The words get shorter — Don't fall asleep, then stay awake, then nothing. The moon shrinks. The screen darkens.
Then you lose. Which was the idea.
Most games speed up when you struggle, to pull you back in. This one does the opposite. Slow answers and missed taps make it quieter, dimmer and less demanding, so it becomes easy to put down. The better it works, the worse you get at playing it — and that is the win condition.
“You lost.” A pause. “Perfect.” A pause. “Good night.” The moon then crosses the sky on its own for about a minute, asking nothing, before the screen goes almost black and stops entirely. Put the phone down.
If you're still awake and you touch the screen, it quietly offers Continue or I'm done — and, if you like, one question: did you fall asleep? Your answer is saved on your device and nowhere else.
In bed. Lights off. Phone at arm's length, screen brightness low. Twenty minutes is the default; ten and thirty are in Settings, along with a sound bed that is off until you turn it on.
Nothing here is a treatment, and nothing is guaranteed. Some nights it will simply be a strange quiet game about a moon.
This app collects nothing. It has no server to send anything to.
No accounts, no sign-in, no email address. No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, no third-party SDKs. No cookies. No camera, microphone, location, contacts, health data or motion sensors. The app makes no network requests after it has loaded.
Two things are kept in your browser's local storage, on your device only:
Preferences — ambience, 432 Hz tone, sleep mode, background drift, reduced motion, readability, haptics and session length.
A session log — for up to your last 30 sessions: the date, session length, how many prompts appeared, how many you answered, your median reaction time, when your responses slowed, how long the quiet tail was, and your optional answer to "Did you fall asleep?".
This log exists so you can look at it. It is never transmitted, and nobody at Nebula Tactic can see it.
Settings → Reset preferences erases everything the app has stored. Removing the app from your home screen, or clearing site data in your browser, does the same.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and knowingly collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
If this policy ever changes, the updated date above changes with it. Since the app is offline, you will see the new version the next time you update it.

By using Don't Fall Asleep ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using it.
The app is a game designed for relaxation and sleep preparation, built around evidence-informed ideas from sleep and attention research.
It is not a medical device, medical treatment, diagnosis or therapy. It cannot guarantee sleep and will not work the same way for everyone. The "engagement state" it estimates is a gameplay heuristic based on how you tap — it is not a clinical measurement of sleepiness or of anything else.
Persistent sleep difficulty, daytime exhaustion or a suspected sleep disorder is a conversation for a qualified healthcare professional. Do not use the app in place of medical care, and do not stop treatment because of it.
Do not use the app while driving, cycling, operating machinery, or in any situation where becoming drowsy could hurt you or anyone else. It is intended for use in bed, when you are ready to sleep.
The app stores your preferences and a session log on your own device and transmits nothing. See the Privacy Policy.
